With Lexi having just graduated and Cameron having just moved to LA, the two were enjoying all that the city had to offer that fateful Summer in 2019. On the afternoon of September 14th the two attended a small concert at a local venue, 31ten, with their respective friends.
While there, Cameron noticed Lexi standing near the bar with a friend and quickly enlisted the help of a buddy to approach the two. As Cameron approached Lexi, it was clear the two had chemistry. Swooned by his romantic opening gesture, "Want to take a shot?," Lexi found herself dancing the rest of the afternoon with him.
Born on February 27, 1996 in Walnut Creek, California. Son to Bob and Denise Owen.
Born on January 21st, 1997 in New York, New York. Daughter to Michael and Deanna Butler.
The two would continue to see each other, progressively getting more serious as their love for one another blossomed. By the time Cameron asked Lexi to be his girlfriend almost two years after first meeting - a testament to Lexi's patience - he knew she was the one he would spend his life with. Lexi would move into his studio apartment a year later where the couple tested their parenting abilities not long after, adopting their beloved and delinquent cat, Jiro.
Fast forward to April 2024, where the two had set off for a weekslong trip to Japan. After a quick leg in Tokyo, they ventured five hours south to Ago Bay where the couple had visited on their prior trip. That afternoon as they took a boat ride across the bay to farm for pearls, Lexi remarked, "This is the best day of my life." Little did she know what was in store!
Returning from the excursion, the couple relaxed and got ready for their dinner scheduled at the hotel restaurant. As they finished getting ready, Cameron suggested (out of character) that they set up some cameras to take pictures before leaving. As they began to pose, Cameron turned to Lexi to express his love, and before she knew it, he was down on a knee asking her to marry him.
The newly engaged couple were on cloud nine, but before heading home, Cameron had one more surprise up his sleeve. The final leg of the trip took them back to Tokyo where he informed Lexi he had set up a dinner for them to celebrate the occasion. After arriving at the restaurant, the host escorted the two to a separate area. With Lexi leading the way, she entered the small dining room to find both sets of parents and a handful of her best friends yelling congratulations.
For years now, Cameron and Lexi have been by each others side, supporting one another through life's adventures. They can't wait to share their love with family and friends next September and celebrate their future together.
